Arrest at councillor’s house

Beruwala Police on a tip off raided the house of a Beruwala Pradeshiya Sabha woman Councillor and arrested 15 suspects engaged in gambling.

There were 10 women among the suspects. All 15 suspects were produced before the Kalutara Magistrate on Friday and the Magistrate released them on conditional bail with directions to the police to file a plaint against them. The raid was conducted by Beruwala OIC Inspector Janaka Vithana and his team.
