Ten days of Indian feast

Together with Celebrity Chefs from the Sofitel Mumbai BKC

India. The land of a thousand spices, aromas and culinary traditions. The curries, biriyani and parathas work miraculously to tempt you into their spell. Prepare yourself to dive into the world of spice-packed fragrance, flavour and rich Indian food as the Mövenpick Hotel Colombo introduces their first ever “Indian Food Festival” at AYU from February 8 to 17.

In collaboration with Sofitel Mumbai BKC, celebrity Chefs Vijay Singh and Sanjiv Uniyal will be at the Mövenpick Hotel Colombo cooking up a storm together with Chef Rana, the hotel’s dedicated Indian Chef. From paneer makhana to Amristarimacchi, from tandoori gobi to goshtroganjosh, every dish is an exceptional mix of spices and different cooking techniques. Indian food is admired for its curries and complex flavour pairings. With its use of tamarind, cardamom and other pungent ingredients, the resulting taste combinations are unlike anything found elsewhere.

India’s regional and cultural diversity reflects beautifully in its flavoursome food and is possibly the reason why Indian food outranks that of most countries. From homely dhal dishes to soft butter naans and spongy, melt in the mouth gulab jamuns, AYU will capture the best of Indian cuisine to take you on a mouth-watering tour of all India has to offer. Priced at 3,750/= nett, the Indian Food Festival will continue for ten days daily from 7 to10.30 pm. Call 7 450 440 for reservations or email [email protected] for inquiries.
