Water distribution project launched

A new rural water distribution project has been completed in Welimada near Badulla.

A ceremony to mark the completion was held at the project site at Uva Ben Head, Welimada, recently.

“This is a Thai Pongal gift to the local Tamil community,” said chief guest Uva Chief Minister and Provincial Education Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayaka. The project costing Rs. 2,200,000 will benefit about 200 families in Keselwatte, Landegama, Pahala Kebillegama, and Ben Head Watte.
