Army donates stationery among needy students

The Army distributed 50 stationery packs and school bags among students of two schools in the Jaffna Peninsula at a formal ceremony held at Community Centre of Poompukar on January 27.

The programme was carried out on the instructions of Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi with a view to uplift the education of students in the peninsula.

Students from low-income families of the Sanmuga Pre-school and J/Poompukar GTM School in Ariyalai-East received these donations which were sponsored by Sanath Weerasinghe and Muditha Weerasinghe.

The Colonel Admin and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, Colonel Ruwan Herathge, religious leaders, senior military personnel, teachers, students, parents and residents of the area were also present on the occasion.
