A man died and his wife was admitted to the Lindula Hospital following a wasp attack while the couple was working on their vegetable plot at the Punchi Katukelle Estate in Talawakelle on Wednesday.
The man was identified as Palaniyandi Subramaniam (72). His wife said wasps attacked them while they were working on their plot of land and they were rushed to hospital, but her husband was pronounced dead on admission.
The postmortem of the deceased was due to be held at the Nuwara Eliya Hospital.
Talawakelle Police are investigating.
