Reconstruction of three-storey building at Ahangama Police Station

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by President Maithripala Sirisena in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to secure Rs. 33.4 million for reconstruction and renovation of the three-storey building where Ahangama Police Station is functioning.

Widening financial assistance from Enterprise Sri Lanka

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera to widen the loan scheme implemented under Enterprise Sri Lanka programme covering foreign employees who wish to obtain housing loans, private bus owners who look forward to operate lnter-City Buses in lieu of normal buses, investors who expect to build and improve elderly care centres and three wheeler drivers wanting to be taxi owners.

Revising Value Added Tax to grant tax relief

The proposal presented by Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera to amend the Value Added Tax Act No.14 of 2002 to reintroduce tax release for importing air buses and accessories, sawn timber, textiles and bran oil and enable the minister to determine the value added tax base with respect to some goods to protect government revenue.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera to present the gazette notification No.2079/32, No.2092/8, No.2097/36 issued under the Revenue Protection Act No 19 of 1962 for Parliamentary approval.

Harrison for the reparation of damages caused by the Fall Army Worm under the compulsory crop insurance programme and to secure additional provisions from the Treasury.

Simplifying methodology for registering exporters

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama to cancel the registration methodology being executed by the Export Development Board.

Machinery and designing contract for civil, mechanical and electrical work of Walachchena Water Supply Project

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Rauff Hakeem to award the machinery and designing contract for civil, mechanical and electric work of Walachchena Water Supply project to M/s China Geo Engineering Company Limited and China National Aero Technology International Engineering Corporation joint venture.

Construction of Motor Vehicle and Power System Laboratory at Moratuwa University Engineering Faculty

Raiffecisem Bank International AG of Austria has agreed to provide a soft loan scheme for the implementation of this project. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Rauff Hakeem to obtain a detailed project report form AVL List GmbH of Austria regarding the above project.

Kalu Ganga Development Project to prevent floods, restrain mixing salt water and supply drinking water to Hambantota

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources P. Harrison to obtain expression of interest proposals from international construction companies, call for project proposals from appropriate construction companies and to appoint Cabinet appointed committees to assess the proposals.

Provide drinking water to model villages and accomplished settlements in areas affected by the kidney disease

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Rauff Hakeem to implement Kirindioya water purification plant improvement project with an investment of Rs. 298 million facilitating 703 families in 18 model villages in Lunugamwehera and Tissamaharama Divisional Secretariats.
