Northern Province Governor Dr. Suren Raghavan on Tuesday called for a comprehensive report on lands released by the Security Forces since 2009.
The Governor has also sought the details of the resettled people on the lands and the housing schemes and other assistance provided for them.
He issued these instructions at a meeting with District Secretaries and Divisional Secretaries in the province, at the Jaffna Public Library premises on Tuesday.
Reportedly, 98 percent of the lands owned by the security forces in North have already been released to the original owners.
A programme is underway under the close supervision of the Governor to release private lands occupied by the Security Forces, on the directive of President Maithripala Sirisena.
