Cancellation of 9 mm firearms licenses

Defence Ministry Secretary Hemasiri Fernando yesterday said that licenses of all 9 mm firearms have been temporarily cancelled.

He said that the Ministry arrived at this decision as they have received information that these firearms were being lent to criminal gangs for money.

Accordingly, new licenses will be issued from the January 23, 2019.
