The First Global Academy (FGA) held its graduation ceremony, at the BMICH Colombo, Sri Lanka celebrating the accomplishments of 80 plus graduating students. FGA, the Accredited Training Partner for Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments UK. First Global Academy is the pioneer in Islamic Banking & Finance Education, Training & Career development, in Sri Lanka and in operation since 2006 that has won accolades, both locally & internationally.

FGA was particularly honored to have as the keynote speaker of this year’s graduation ceremony Muhammad IkramThowfeek, a visionary leader, a Chartered Accountant by profession and an Islamic Banker & Ethical Entrepreneur, who has devoted himself for the growth of Islamic Finance Industry in the world for more than three decades, through his diverse positions held in various organizations. He is the Founder, Chairman of First Global Academy–Colombo, Sri Lanka and MIT Global Group having its Head office in Dubai, UAE with expansion plans to Turkey, Malaysia, UK and other parts of the world. He is a specialist in setting up Islamic Banks and Islamic Financial Institutions. He is a prominent speaker and world renowned personality in the Islamic Finance world. He founded FGA in 2006, and known for having pioneered the Islamic Banking and Finance Education in Sri Lanka. Thowfeek emphasized that graduates from FGA have a unique professional identity and a set of values and beliefs that will allow them to continue their quest for lifelong learning and distinguish themselves in their chosen paths. He also said Islamic Banking and Finance not only for Muslim and it is for people of all faiths. He invited all citizens of Sri Lanka to benefit from Islamic Banking & Finance to develop the country by funding revenue generating & infrastructure projects through Islamic Finance.

The Chief Guest Simon Culhane, Chief Executive Officer of Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) UK, who addressed the gathering. Guest of Honour Feroza Ameen, Chief Manager, Islamic Banking Division, Commercial Bank awarded the Certificates and Special awards to the female students. Fazal Gaffor, CEO Amana Takaful General, Mohamed Azmeer, CEO Amana Bank, KramThowfeek, Shihab Zareem, Director / CEO Privelth Global and Chief Guest Simon Culhane awarded Certificates to the graduates.

Since 2006, when the FGA was established, it has become a leading provider of Islamic Banking and Finance education in the country, graduating every year young professionals with the knowledge and skills that are highly required by the local and global job market.
