New UK Defence Advisor calls on CDS

New resident Defence Advisor (DA) at the British High Commission in Sri Lanka, Colonel David Ashman paid a courtesy call on Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne on Thursday at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS) at BMICH.

The outgoing nonresident Defence Adviser, Group Captain Frazer Nicholson based in New Delhi India was also present.

The appointment of a resident DA for the United Kingdom took place after a lapse of almost a decade. Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne cordially welcomed Colonel David Ashman to Sri Lanka. He praised the assistance extended by Group Captain Frazer Nicholson during his productive tenure in getting the training opportunities and other operational assistance to Sri Lanka, being the nonresident Defence Adviser.

Subsequent to the discussion, Admiral Wijegunaratne presented a token of appreciation to the outgoing Defence Advisor.
