Cigarette, polythene taboo in Laggala

‘Steps will be taken to prohibit the selling of cigarettes and use of polythene within the Laggala Green City,’ Laggala Provincial Secretary Piyal Nishantha said.

He made these remarks while addressing NGO representatives, recently.

The Laggala Green City was opened by President Maithripala Sirisena, recently. He pointed out the Laggala City was constructed in response to the villagers who lost their houses as a result of the construction of Kaluganga Reservoir. He also told the NGO representatives that more steps would be taken to make the Green City concept a reality.
