President Maithripala Sirisena, who declared Tripitaka as a national heritage, would seek Buddhist nations’ support to make a collective appeal to the UNESCO to declare Tripitaka as a world heritage.
SLFP media spokesperson Mahinda Samarasinghe said the President is keen on soliciting support from Buddhist nations such as Myanmar, Laos, Japan, China and even India to make a collective appeal to the UNESCO.
