Lankan businesses aid Kenya children’s home

Hela Intimates Kenya and St. Theresa Industries (Kenya) in collaboration with the Sri Lankan High Commission in Nairobi handed over medical equipment to Mogra Children’s Home Medical Centre in Nairobi on January 7.

Over 300 children are sheltered at the Mogra Children’s Home.

Hannah Wairimu Njoroge, Founder and Director, Irene Wambui, Accountant, Head of Day to Day Operations and Simion Karugu, Manager, accepted the donation on behalf of Mogra Children’s Home from Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Kenya Sunil de Silva, Nilantha Kasturiarachchi, General Manager of Hela Intimates Kenya and Sebastian Damith Perera, Director International Business Development of St. Theresa Industries.

The donation was a part of the continuous assistance granted by Sri Lankan businesses established in Kenya as a corporate social responsibility.

In December 2018, the Sri Lankan community and businesses donated food and medical items to the Mogra Children’s home.

Deputy High Commissioner Anzul Jhan was present.
