Each year, NDB has been crowned with prestige, further enhancing its stature in the banking world. Similarly, NDB conferred with another set of awards and accolades presented from both local and international organizations in the year 2018.
NDB was felicitated with two of the most coveted global banking awards – the ‘‘Bank of the Year in Sri Lanka 2018’ presented by The Banker UK, which came in the backdrop of NDB being recognized as the Best Bank in Sri Lanka by the coveted awards program of the Global Finance Magazine, USA.
As such 2018 marks a significant year for NDB where it won both these prestigious awards in one single year, which is a rare feat for a bank.
NDB also emerged Winner under the banking sector at the National Business Excellence Awards 2018, hosted by the National Chamber of Commerce, Sri lanka (NCCSL) in addition to emerging as the Runner-Up for Excellence in Corporate Governance.
NDB Bank was honoured at the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2018 with two awards: ‘Category Award Winner - Governance’ and ‘Consistent Commitment and Continuous Improvement - Governance’, at the annual event organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, to recognize sustainable champions of the local corporate sphere.
NDB was also crowned Bank of the Year for “Excellence in Customer Convenience” in addition to two Merit Awards at the LankaPay Technnovation Awards 2018. Accordingly, the Bank was felicitated with “Best Common ATM Acquirer of the Year” - Category B Merit Award, “Bank of the Year for Financial Inclusivity” - Category B, Merit Award and the winner of the “Bank of the Year for Excellence in Customer Convenience” - Category C.
Meanwhile, the Bank’s Project Finance unit was felicitated with triple awards under the Corporate & Investment Banking Awards 2018, a category which was introduced for the first time by Asian Banking & Finance Magazine, Singapore. The awards conferred were the Best Debt Deal of the Year, Best Corporate Client Initiative of the Year and the Best Syndicated Loan of the Year, for exceptional corporate customer solutions facilitated by the Bank’s PF Unit.
“The year 2018 has been a significant year for NDB, and these awards are a testament to NDB’s strong management skills, significant growth and noteworthy performance in the balance sheet,” NDB Group CEO Dimantha Seneviratne said.
The number of awards NDB has won throughout the year is further proof that NDB will always strive to make the customer proud to be a part of the Bank’s success. NDB’s motto “Our Commitment.
