Sri LaNka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Chairman Prof. G.L.Peiris speaking at a press conference told reporters that the government has fallen prey to external forces and is unable to undertake projects or complete any.
“This is a minority government with a hidden agenda.Many thought that if Ranil Wickremesinghe became their Prime Minister, they would be able to fulfill their ambitions,” he said.
“Now it is plain to see that these individuals has gone back to his old ways and there won’t be any progress in this country.”
He also revealed that members of the international community such as the International Truth and Justice Project (ITJP) Executive Director Yasmin Sooka were in the process of creating causality lists of those who disappeared during the last phase of the war and it would directly put the blame on the Security Forces.
Meanwhile, Rohitha Abeygunawardena told the media that the government was in the process of increasing the price of milk powder by Rs. 135 and the price of LPG gas cyclinders by a further Rs. 137.
“All this government does is burden and tax the consumers, it did so when it was in power and is at it again,” he said. “When will consumers and ordinary citizens have some respite.”
