Large crowds at Jaffna Christmas Carnival

The Jaffna Christmas Carnival and Musical Extravaganza, organised by the Security Force – Jaffna, ended successfully after entertaining a large crowd in the Jaffna Peninsula.

The programme commenced on December 28 and ended on December 30 at the Archeological Grounds opposite the Fort in Jaffna. The festival was organised under the guidance of Commander, Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi and all Division Commanders. All those under Command Brigades and Battalions worked together to conduct the annual mega event.

The event comprised games and fun-filled events for children while popular singers and dancing troops entertained the gathering. Yarl Tunes musical group in Jaffna, the Army Band and Civil Security Force Band performed for three days respectively.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Northern Province Governor Reginald Cooray while Vicar General Reverend Father P. Jebarathnam, High Court Judge – Jaffna, Government Agent of Jaffna, Consul General of India in Jaffna, members of the tri - forces and Police, government officials and a large number of civilians were present.
