A suspect was arrested by the Colombo, Wellawatte Range Vice Squad with 1 kg and 513 g of heroin in his possession, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The Vice Squad officers had searched the 38-year-old suspect at the Wellawatte Railway Station and seized the drugs in his possession.
The suspect is a resident of Modara, Moratuwa.
The value of the drugs has been estimated at around Rs.18 million. Further investigations are being carried out by the Colombo Range Vice Squad.
