Lorry accident: one dead

A man died when his lorry veered off a cliff on the Kurunegala - Kandy main road on Monday.

The accident had occurred at 1.30 pm in Weuda, Mawathagama.

The victim, who had been stuck under the lorry, was rushed to the Kurunegala Hospital, where he had succumbed to his injuries.

He was identified as Upali Samarasinghe, a 42-year-old resident of Weddana, Weuda.

A postmortem examination was to be carried out on the body of the deceased. Investigations are continuing.
