Suspect in Matara murder arrested

Another suspect in the murder of a schoolboy on the Elawella Road in Matara was nabbed by Matara Police yesterday.

The suspect was identified as Jayaweera Muhandiramge Sunuru Wimukthi Jayaweera (17), a resident of Walgama in Matara.

He had fled the murder location on a motorcycle, police said.

He was to be produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Courts.

Matara Police OIC leads the investigation.
