LANKA IOC celebrates 16 years of operations

Lanka IOC PLC recently celebrated 16 years of operations in Sri Lanka.

Commemorating this event the company organized several activities in its Head office, Trincomalee Terminal and also the Retail outlets spread throughout the country.

The biggest celebrations were held at the Lanka IOC Head quarters on the company day. Every year Lanka IOC celebrates August 29, as “Lanka IOC Day”.

There were celebrations at various retail outlets across the island including their Head office and Trincomallee terminal.

In commemoration of the company day, Lanka IOC PLC also organized Blood Donation Camp and a Free Health camp. Apart from this camp, company also donated Wheel Chairs.

There was mega participation of the public for the blood donation camp organized at the head quarter of company at World Trade Centre, Colombo. A total of 102 Units of Blood was donated to Government Blood Bank at Ragama Hospital from this endeavor.

Managing Director of Lanka IOC Shyam Bohra, donated Wheelchairs to Ven. Hathiyavela Chandrananda Thero Sri Sumangalaramaya, Ampitigala Anguruwathota and to other low income needy people, as recommended by the Social Services Department and Helpage Sri Lanka, during the Lanka IOC celebrations.

Speaking at the event, Bohra said that the company was registered sixteen years back in Sri Lanka and now its s a truly Sri Lankan company, listed on Colombo Stock Exchange. It is also the top public listed company in energy sector in Sri Lanka.

He also stated that another important issue at the workplace that needs focus is maintaining safe and hygienic practices at all times. “For a company that is constantly dealing with oil, everyone to take a pledge at Lanka IOC Day to implement SAFETY practices at all the times.”

He also called on all LIOCns to rededicate themselves and passionately demonstrates the core value of integrity to transform the future growth trajectory of Lanka IOC and take Lanka IOC to even greater path of success in the years ahead.

He thanked to all the stake holders of Lanka IOC and the government for their continuous support without which it would have not been possible for Lanka IOC to transform petroleum sector in Sri Lanka.
