Galle Additional Magistrate Asanga Hettiarachchi remanded a suspect who is alleged to have breached bail conditions until September 7.
The suspect had been earlier released on bail when he was produced before her with charges of assaulting and distressing his wife under the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act.
The suspect was arrested by Thelikada Police on May 23 on a complaint made by his wife. In her complaint she had stated that the suspect had harassed her physically and also made shameful remarks on her daughter continuously.
Following investigations into her complaint, police arrested and produced him before Galle Additional Magistrate who released him on condition that he should not visit her at her house until the conclusion of the case.
However, he was re-arrested and produced before the magistrate for allegedly visiting his wife’s house which had been prohibited as a bail condition. The suspect is a 47 year old person of Boossa, Galle
