Global warming has affected people in many countries today. Temperature in Japan has increased up to 43 C and many European countries including Spain and France have temperature over 50 C with sudden heatwaves. Heatwaves, water scarcity, rise in sea level, melting glaciers and polar ice caps, and bush fires cause more damage than that of the terrorism.

Air pollution in Kolkata, Mumbai and Dhilli is 70 times higher than the stipulated level. Air pollution in Sri Lanka is minimal because of the air emission programme we began in 2008,” he said.
