About 200,000 people found to have been deprived of Samurdhi benefits in the past due to political reasons, would be given the due benefits again soon, said Kurunegala District UNP Parliamentarian, General Secretary of the UNP and Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, speaking at a public meeting at the Hiriyala electorate UNP office, recently.
In addition, a new project to provide suitable jobs among the unemployed in Samurdhi families too would be launched soon.
The Minister also said that the aspirations of the common people of this country would be fulfilled during the next two years and a sole UNP government would be established in 2020, after rectifying the existing disputes and problematic issues within the UNP.
“There are visible and clear internal disputes and divisions within the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna now, and that trend was clear to all election of the Deputy Speaker in Parliament, recently,” he said.
