Vocational courses for 10,000 students unsuccessful at GCE A/L exam

Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told Daily News yesterday in Kuliyapitiya that 10,000 students who failed the GCE (A/L) exam will be provided with vocational training.

They training will be provided at 150 schools via 26 courses and 2,000 qualified teachers will be recruited to teach the students, the Minister said. The courses were conducted at 42 schools last year. The schools where the courses are to be conducted will be declared within next two weeks, the Minister said.
