WPRFU nominates Lasitha for SLR presidency

Sri Lanka Rugby’s current vice president Lasitha Gunaratne was nominated to contest the presidency by the Western Province Rugby Football Union at the forthcoming Sri Lanka Rugby elections yesterday.

At a meeting held at Havelock SC, Gunaratne, a former Royal College and CR&FC captain and Sri Lanka second row forward received 12 votes against the 4 obtained by incumbent SLR president Asanga Seneviratne, it is reliably learnt.

The Sri Lanka Rugby election is scheduled to be held on May 30.
