Man dies falling off footboard

A 54-year-old man travelling on the footboard of a running bus had died falling off the vehicle at Inigodawela, Chilaw on Sunday.

The incident had taken place around 2.15 am. The bus was transporting pilgrims to the Madhu Church. The man was admitted to the Chilaw Base Hospital and subsequently transferred to the Colombo National Hospital where he died. The driver was arrested. He was produced before the Chilaw Magistrate's Court.
