Construction work to conclude in September

The construction work of the Matara–Beliatta railway line will be complete by September, Project Engineer A. P. Wimalasooriya said.

He said the setting up of the railway line after the placing sleepers is carried out fast now. Wimalasooriya added that the railway line is 27 km long and that USD 278 million is spent on the construction work by the China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CMC).

The Project Engineer said that railway stations are built at Kekanadura, Babarenda and Wewrukannala.
