The stage drama ‘Mahasupina’ is a teaching and learning project of the mass communication department of Kelaniya University. It is a product by Prof. Ariyarathne Athugala. The play is based on the Mahasupina Jathaka story (Dreams of King Kosol) and it is a play depicting the present social deterioration.
Prominent artistes such as Akila Anurudda, Saranga Disasekara, Madani Malwatta, Buddadasa Withanachchi, Priyankara Ratnayake, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Janaka Ranasinghe, and Sajith Anuttara collaborate with university students to give life to the characters. The music and dancing is done by Tharupati Munasinha and Ravibandu Vidyapathi.
This drama will be staged on March 14 at the Lionel Wendt Theater, Colombo and on March 23 at Yowun Nikethanaya, Anuradhapura.
