Brigadier Priyanka Fernando reinstated

The Minister Counsellor (Defence) attached to the Sri Lanka High Commission in London, Brigadier Priyanka Fernando, who was suspended from his responsibilities was reinstated under the instructions of President Maithripala Sirisena, today.

However, an inquiry into the incident has been initiated.

Speaking to the Daily News, the Military Spokesman Brigadier Sumith Atapattu said the Army will cooperate with any investigation conducted by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, adding that a decision cannot be taken to punish him immediately based on a video clip alone.

He said there was a tense situation at the time of the incident and as such, an inquiry has been initiated to determine what had transpired.

Very Well Done Your Excellency for the right decision. Foreign minister & responsible ministry officers should resign for the decision to suspend due to some overseas pressure. Instead FM should call the British HC in colombo & lodge a protest for allowing the demo by pro LTTE groups, if they agree by thier own decision to ban the LTTE. Hasn't the Europeans had enough of terrorist bashing to learn the lesson of terrorism?

Real face shown to the world.

Who approved a protest to support a banned terrorist group and to denigrate & dishonour a souveeign nation at her ntional day? Who came forward to stop that

is great for a leader should make him our president
