Law and Order and Southern Development Minister Sagala and MP Buddhika Pathirana handed over United National Party’s nomination lists at the District Secretariat Matara last morning.
The lists were for the Pitabeddara, Kotapola, Kirinda Puhulwella, Mulatiyana, Athureliya, Akuressa, Kamburupitiya,Thihagoda,Devinuwara, Dikwella and Weligama Pradeshiya Sabhas.
UNP nominations for the Pasgoda, Malimboda, Hakmana Pradeshiya Sabhas and the Weligama Urban Council were handed over on December14. Nomination lists for the Matara Municipal Council and Matara Pradeshiya Sabha were handed over by Finance and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera last Tuesday (19).
Krishali Muthukumarana authorized representative for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) handed over nominations for the Pitabeddara, Kotapola, Kirinda Puhulwella, Mulatiyana, Athureliya, Akuressa, Kamburupitiya, Thihagoda, Devinuwara, Dikwella, Weligama and Matara
Pradeshiya Sabhas and the Matara Municipal Council.
The SLPP’s nomination lists for the Pasgoda, Malimboda and Hakmana Pradeshiya Sabhas and the Weligama Urban Council were handed over on the 14th of which the nomination list submitted for the Weligama UC was rejected the same day. “We have appealed against the rejection” said Muthukumarana refraining from making further comments in this regard.
