NCPA seeks AG’s advice on sacked schoolgirl

The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA), which probed the incident where a schoolgirl was sacked from a school in the Kekirawa Education Zone on the pretext of a false charge of pregnancy, has forwarded its report to the Attorney General’s Department for legal advice for further action on the matter, NCPA Chairperson Marini de Livera said.

She added that the probe was conducted by officers of the special police investigation unit attached to the Authority. During the probe, the JMO had established that the said schoolgirl had no pregnancy.

Neither had she been the victim of any sexual abuse. During the probe, the officers also recorded evidence from the girl's parents and all other parties relevant to the matter.
