Karateka Pidum wins a gold medal

D.L. Pidum Dewnila, who was trained by his master D. Nishantha at Shiramizu Karate School, Maggona under the instructions of its head coach R.K.A. Dinesh, won gold medal in the Under 9 (boys) Karate ‘Kata’ event, for the first place, at the Kalutara district.

Karate championship organized by the Sri Lanka Karathe Do Association – Western Province Branch and held at the Auditorium of Pasdunrata College of Teacher Education, Kalutara recently.

Pidum Dewnila, aged 8, is a bright student at Magammedda Primary School, Payagala in the Kalutara area. Dewnila is also a talented player at the School Badminton (Junior) team.
