The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) has commenced an investigation against State Minister T.B. Ekanayake for allegedly misusing a vehicle belonging to Central Cultural Fund (CCF) while he was serving as the Minister of Cultural Affairs between 2012 and 2015.
Filing a fact report before Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara, the FCID informed Court that an investigation is being carried out based on a complaint lodged by the Organisation for the Protection of Central Cultural Fund.
The complainant alleged that a vehicle bearing number plate WP PE-0771 belonging to the CCF had been misused by State Minister while he was functioning as the Minister of Cultural Affairs during the previous regime.
