NEC prepares officials for Local Government polls

National Election Commission (NEC) is prepared to hold Local Government Elections and the senior presiding officers and assistant election commissioners are being educated on the process, Additional Elections Commissioner M.M. Mohommed said.

Mohammed said a 3-day special training programme was conducted for senior presiding officers and assistant election commissioners island-wide.

He said the Commissioner planned to train government officers and assign them for election duties in December.

He said the Commission would educate them about new election rules as well if the representatives of political parties requested.
