Errant trader fined

An errant trader found guilty of displaying and selling outdated yoghurt unfit for human consumption was fined Rs. 5,000 by Walasmulla Acting Magistrate K. D. Gnanasiri. The accused is a resident of Warapitiya in the Walasmulla area.

The outdated cups of yoghurt, taken into custody during the raid, were produced in Court as case productions by health investigation authorities. A team of Public Health Inspectors attached to Walasmulla Divisional Office of the Medical Officer of Health made these detections and prosecuted in the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court.
