Heta Dakina Ranil begins

Heta Dakina Ranil, (Encounter Ranil), an exhibition depicting special events covering Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s four-decade political journey was opened by President Maithripala Sirisena at the BMICH yesterday.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until Sunday, August 20.

The objective of the exhibition is to appreciate the national service rendered by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during his political journey.

The exhibition showcases the Prime Ministers political career, which began in 1977 during late President J.R. Jayewardene’s regime. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe was the youngest Member of Parliament in the 1977 Parliament. However, he had been serving as a Working Committee member of the United National Party (UNP) since February 3, 1975. Under late President J.R.Jayewardene’s Presidency, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe held several important portfolios.
