Woman dies when bus plunges into precipice

A woman passenger died and 13 others were injured and admitted to the Mawanella Base Hospital when a SLTB bus from the Mawanella depot on its way from Mawanella to Aranayake crashed into a parked road roller and plunged into a 15-foot precipice at Ussapitiya.

The deceased is yet to be identified. The bus conductor said the bus had a compliment of nearly 25 passengers when the accident occurred.

Aranayake Police are investigating.
