Kelani Saviya the joint CSR program of Kelani Cables PLC and the University of Peradeniya celebrated its 10th year anniversary in Colombo yesterday under the patronage of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya .
Speaker Jayasuriya addressing the gathering expressed his appreciation in Kelani Cables’ CSR Kelani Saviya which was sans commercial motives whatsoever but does a yeoman service to the youth of the country.
Kelani Saviya was implemented in 2007 at the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya (UoP), to promote professional Electricians in Sri Lanka
Also 34 students who had passed the final examination of the Kelani Saviya program also received their certificates from Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, Vice Chancellor of UoP, Prof Upul B Dissanayake and Mahinda Saranapala Director, CEO of Kelani Cables at the event.
Nine university lecturers involved in Kelani Saviya were presented with tokens of appreciation from Chief Guest Speaker Jayasuriya as a gesture of recognizing their dedication and commitment during the past 10 years to produce professional electricians to the country.
