The 12th session of the Ease of Doing Business Forum was held yesterday by the Finance Ministry at the MILODA Academy of Financial Studies.
Fifteen queries were forwarded by several private organisations.The queries were discussed among the relevant state sector parties and Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
The forum revealed several investment opportunities that may start in the country.Sri Saravana Spinning Mills India requested the BOI to allocate a land to start their textile factory in Sri Lanka.
A representative of the company Mohan Ambawatte said that this was a Rs 90 million worth investment. Land will be allocated by the BOI in Batticaloa provided that the necessary infrastructure is available.
The next forum is scheduled for June 2, 2017. Ministers Rishad Bathiudeen, Kabir Hashim and Treasury Secretary Dr. R H.S.Samarathunga were present.
