Prince of Wales College Moratuwa came up with a creditable performance to beat Royal College Colombo by an innings and 54 runs in their Singer Cup Under 19 inter-schools cricket match played at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Dilanka Madhuranga and Vishwa Chaturanga starred in the Cambrians’ victory with a century apiece while in the bowling Kaumal Nanayakkara excelled with match figures of 7 for 43.
Sri Sumangala College Panadura left-arm leg-spinner Anuka Jayasinghe produced an excellent performance to capture a match bag of 15 wickets for 68 runs in their innings win over St. Mary’s College Chilaw at Panadura. His figures included 9 for 26 runs in the second innings.
S. de S. Jayasinghe and St Thomas’ Kotte were the other teams to win against St. Xavier’s Marawila by 10 wickets and Henry Olcott Kolonnawa by an innings and 1 run respectively.
Dilshan Pramoda (Ananda Sasthralaya) scored an unbeaten 174 against Madampa MMV and Avishka Tharindu (St. Anthony’s Wattala) made 143 against Dharmapala Pannipitiya.
Rukshan Dissanayake (St. John’s Panadura) and Prasath Chathuranga (Ananda Sastralaya) also made centuries.
