Court of Appeal nod to register SAITM graduates under SLMC

The Court of Appeal had directed the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) to grant provisional registration to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Management (SAITM) Medical graduates, today (31).

The decision had been made in spite of the massive protests conducted by Inter-University Students’ Federation and Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) against SAITM at Malabe, for the past few months.

No other way to release justice to all MBBS of State, KDU, NCMC or SAITM except to equate them. They are all UGC approved and under the equal protection of the law of this land or else will come into the category of lawlessness. Most countries have private medical schools. Why this insecurity and raging to destroy others. Its time the trade unions got back to their boundaries. Medical council should not have Deans on board whose children study abroad.

Medical Deans with any integrity and honesty should send other representatives to Medical Council while their children go to foreign med. schools and have to do Act 16. Vested interest is a threat to the already corrupt examination systems in situ from the A/L upwards. Exam. marking systems must be computerized to eliminate personal cheating errors. Even the SAITM Inspection report of 2015 was so altered at SLMC level that it was misleading. Jealousy in private practice is a force which overcomes all other physical realities. Most religions too cant liberate those crazy 0n the money god, who are never satisfied. Lawyer from AG Dept. like the deans, will be an asset.

SLMC must be a registering body for medical practioners with membership include some educated members of public one or two legal representatives two or more from the university and rest are qualified medical practioners and specialists. They serve the public at large and issues licences to practice medicine check physicians behaviour of all types if reported by the public. Has no right to legally block qualified physicians within the country and outside the country but can advice those qualified outside to sit for some subjects such as public health tropical medicine and language skills
