The Skills Development and Vocational Training Ministry will provide funds and manpower by way of qualified teachers to the Don Bosco Technical Training Institute at Eththukale, Negombo from next month.
Speaking at the Annual Prize Giving Day and Certificate Awarding ceremony at the Institute recently, Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe assured that in response to a request by Executive Director Rev.Fr. Anthony Pinto, his ministry would provide funds to maintain the quality of education at the institute which has a history of 55 years.
The minister stressing the importance of learning English language said that the ministry is ready to send good English teachers and added that it is of paramount importance to send teachers to follow refresher courses to update their knowledge.
Minister Samarasinghe said more employment opportunities are available in the private sector than in the State sector. One needs to know English to obtain employment in the private sector, he said.
