Tharindu excels for Cambrians

The captain of the Prince of Wales team and all rounder Tharindu Amarasinghe who bats left hand and opens batting and bowls right arm off spin has excelled with the bat by scoring 539 runs in ten outings with a healthy average of 53.9 in the on going all island under 13 division one cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

So far Cambrians are going on great guns under Tharindu and they are unbeaten through out the tournament. In he pre quarters they beat Kalutara Vidyalaya and through for the quarter finals. In the game against Kalutara Vidyalaya he scored 128 runs his second century in the series and the first being against Christ King College. Tudella with a blistering 17 runs.

In the pre quarters game his century consisted of twenty hits to the rope and two over and occupied the crease for 163 minutes and faced 137 balls and associated 107 runs partnership for the sixth wicket with Vinuja Ranpul who was unbeaten on 71 runs. He is coached by former Cambrian Kalpa Fernando. The Prefect of Games Priyantha Welarathna and the Master-in-Charge Shantha Rodrigo are extending their fullest support while the Principal J. W. S. Siriwardena is guiding him at all times.
