Three get death sentence for murder

Three persons found guilty of homicide, were sentenced to death by Kegalle Provincial High Court Judge Dhammika Ganepola yesterday.

They were convicted of committing the murder of Aluthwattegedara Samarasinghe of Hemmathagama, Kalalpitiya by stabbing him in March 2005.

The case was taken up before the Kegalle Provincial High Court after a preliminary inquiry was conducted in the Mawanella Magistrate’s Court.

The prosecution was led by State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne.
