Third power generator at Norochcholai activated

The third power generation unit of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant is now activated, Power and Renewable Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said yesterday.

“We were able to activate the defected second power generator last Tuesday, adding 300MW to the national grid,” he said.

“The third power generator resumed yesterday and with it, a capacity of 600MW is added to the national grid. This has enabled us to do away with power-cuts,” the minister said.
