Pujith on ‘Facebook IGP’: “It’s an unwanted act”


IGP Pujith Jayasundara made a revelation about the "Facebook IGP" saying the latter had used 'indecent language' to communicate with females, on Facebook.

Weeraseka Aarachchige Rajitha Madhushan Weerasekara, a resident of New Zealand, was remanded by court for allegedly maintaining a fake Facebook profile of the IGP Pujith Jayasundara.

The suspect is now popularly known as "Facebook IGP".

 The IGP, speaking to Daily News Online, this afternoon, said the incident damaged his public image. "There is a clear case for an inquiry," the IGP said, commenting on the matter.

The IGP dubbed the incident as an "unwanted act," saying it caused inconvenience to him.

The CID initiated investigation into the account after a woman in Kandy made a complaint. 

Weeraseka Aarachchige Rajitha Madhushan Weerasekara was arrested upon arrival at the BIA, on Monday, September 5.
