Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Faizer Mustapha said the delimitation review committee informed him that the delimitation process has been completed in 16 districts, adding that the local government elections will be held once the process is complete.
He said the government ensures fair representation to all ethnic groups.
Minister Mustapha said it is unfair to hold Local government elections when there are many issues regarding the delimitation process that need to be addressed, adding that some people allege them for the delay in holding the elections.
“The former government and the former Local Government Minister are responsible for all the pertaining issues in the delimitation process,” he said.
