Meetings in support of SAITM: Disruptor in hot water

A youth who tried to disrupt a meeting held in support of the SAITM private university at the Samurdhi hall in Ratnapura new town on Tuesday, was overpowered by members of the organising committee and the parents of SAITM students and handed over to Ratnapura Police.

As soon as Ven. Prof Dambara Amila Nayake Thera finished his lecture, the youth who was in the audience stood up and took the Ven. Thera to task saying he was expressing an opinion different to the earlier stand on the issue taken by him.

Although organisers asked the youth to reserve his question to question time, the youth started to disrupt the meeting by shouting continuously and the organisers and parents took him out and handed him over to Police.
