Examiner, his deputy on the mat for negligence of duty

 

 An examiner and his deputy on duty at Medawachchiya Central College Advanced Level Examination centre were removed from their posts by Commissioner General of Exams, W. A. N. J. Pushpakumara due to negligence of duty.

According to investigations there was only one student sitting the exam on Tuesday evening at the centre. The examiner and his deputy has neglected their duty by not properly invigilating the candidate.

Within a few hours the Kebithigollewa Zonal Director received information regarding the incident who in turn alerted the NCP Education Director, Pushpakumara noted. When questioned about any actions regarding the candidate, Pushpakumara said he had not received any complaints against the candidate but if further investigations prove any wrong doing by the candidate, legal actions would be initiated. Meanwhile, another examiner and a deputy at the Polonnaruwa Nagara Maha Vidyalaya were removed from their posts for negligence of duty. They were accused of not delivering engineering technology first part to two candidates on August 6. The Commissioner General said the candidate's answer papers would be corrected separately so that they would not face any injustice. He also made sure stern disciplinary actions against the examiners who has neglected exam duties.
