The Mahaweli Maha Seya built at Kotmale will be opened for public veneration by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on June 19 at 2.00 p.m.
The Mahaweli Cultural Foundation chaired by Minister Navin Dissanayake completed the Mahaweli Maha Seya with state and private sector funding.
The Mahaweli Seya which is 289 feet tall has a circumference of 628 feet.
